For its measurement department, Daniela Works Ltd recently acquired a Faro Gage Coordinate Measurement Machine. Faro Gage is the smallest arm in the Faro range, but it offers great accuracy. One of the main benefits is its portability as, with its magnetic base, it can be easily mounted directly on machines, such as the horizontal borer, to perform in-process measurements.
Intricate features on complex castings, such as the cannon box illustrated below, can be now inspected for parallelism and correct axis positions. When accompanied with calibrated micrometres and bore gauges, there are virtually no features which cannot be measured to British Standards requirements. This will significantly assist us to provide parts machined to the accuracy required by our customers.
